Yes, it's one of those days when for once I seem to have a lot to post.

Anyway. Obama won in Iowa. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand he's my least favorite of the Big 3, in fact he generally ranks at the bottom of all the democratic candidates for me, although it's hard to say exactly where. On the other hand it's way cool that in a conservative, mostly white, midwestern state 2/3rds of the people did not vote for the white male. The problem, I think John Edwards is the best of the candidates. Even more so after the speech he gave. In fact I've generally be torn between Edwards and Clinton, but whatever feminist loyalties I had to Clinton have been snapped by just how great I think Edwards would be for America.

I don't think he's going to win though, but the campaign isn't over yet. So who knows. At least we're in for a good race.

See, I'm having mixed feelings about the Democratic options at the moment. I voted for Edwards way back in 2004's primary and was heartbroken when he didn't advance. I still like the guy, but I feel oddly drawn to Obama and Clinton, although for perhaps the wrong reasons. I think all three are great choices, but yeah, I have a feeling Edwards isn't going to trump the others. However, if he becomes a running mate with either of them, that'd make me happy.

Well, that's the great thing about the Democrats right now, there really aren't any bad candidates, although I'm not an Obama supporter. I was a Wes Clark support in the last election, which is one of the things I like about Clinton. I suspect that if she gets the nomination he will be her running mate.

I like Edwards a whole lot too. damn shame he's apparently very forgettable.

Poor Edwards, he's probably the only presidential candidate that has been at a disadvantage for being a white male. And who thought we would ever say that.

which is simultaneously awesome, and yet...well, for the general election....let's just say I've lived in the south all my life. and I'm afeared.

I totally agree. I much prefer Edwards, but you know that if Clinton and Obama lose, they will say it's proof that we aren't willing to vote for a woman or a black man and that we just don't like Hillary.

Michael Moore wrote us a really good letter about the 3 candidates. It's probably on his website.

I'll have to go look for that letter.

but you know that if Clinton and Obama lose, they will say it's proof that we aren't willing to vote for a woman or a black man and that we just don't like Hillary.

I hope that doesn't happen, because I think it's safe to say that the democratic party isn't looking at things that way. In fact oddly enough Obama seems to be the most electable of the three of them, judging by how much independents support him.

Thanks for the link. Michael Moore pretty much feels the same way about Obama that I do. He's all pretty speeches without a lot of substance. And it is Edwards willingness to stand up to the corporations that makes me like him so much.
