I was warned
May. 1st, 2007 10:04 pmDrive has been cancelled. Everyone said Fox would do it, but I thought they'd give the show more than two weeks. I mean really what is wrong with them? It's not like they even have another show to take its spot, they're just showing House re-runs. Why can't they just let us see the episodes that have been filmed? What's the worst that could happen, the show might become popular?
And in other bad TV news, It's not that I'm inherently against Veronica and Pizz, although the paring doesn't do anything for me. I loved Veronica and Logan until this season but the ridiculousness of them breaking up and getting back together every other episode was wearing on me. I like angst, hell, I love angst, but they couldn't even find a good reason to break them up this last time.
No the thing that bothered me about the Pizz/Veronica moments at the end, was that Veronica had just decided she wasn't interested him he kisses her, and suddenly he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now either this means she's just horny, or she's stupid, or maybe both. I mean she obviously thought about him as potential date material and decided no. She doesn't contradict Wallace when he confronts her and says she knows Pizz has a thing for her. In fact she decides to make it clear that she's not interested. I just don't buy that the kiss was that good.
And for reasons I haven't quite figured out yet, it gets my feminist hackles up. Maybe they'll make it better next episode, but I think they're just trying to milk the LoVe angst even more, and I'm sorry, but that cow has gone dry. Go find a new one.
Crap, and I just swallowed my gum :(

Date: 2007-05-02 12:18 pm (UTC)Haven't you ever been there - ex that you broke up with happy with someone else, you trying to be polite and ok with it even though you're confused about why you would/wouldn't be. Plus - Pizz is a really good guy, someone you should be into.
I have always liked that she is a kid who is still figuring things out. Lots of TV has characters that seem very emotionally static to me.
Hope your day gets better! Swallowed gum - ick!

Date: 2007-05-02 04:26 pm (UTC)And you know, it wouldn't have bothered me if when Walace pointed out Pizz's crush she'd had a moment of revelation and decided to give it a go. I think it was that she had decided against him, and then the kiss changed her mind that bothered me. Maybe what bothers me about that is that I'd be willing to give Pizz a chance, but the timing suggests that it's not going to work out and that it's only an excuse to torture us with more LoVe angst, and I'm just bored with that now, even though I was huge LoVe fan.
