icemink: (Can You Hear Me by jatnj)

I know, two posts in one night from me, something must be up. But tonight's Battelstar can't go without comment. It was amazing, and how the hell I'm I supposed to wait until 2008 for the next season?! They better mean January 1st of 2008, cause that's a hell of a long time.

First off, can I just say I called it! Starbuck is a cylon. Well, okay, it's not definite that she is, but we saw the other 4 of the final 5 and then there she is miraculously back from the dead. As soon as Lee had a boggie he couldn't find I knew it had to be her.

But I did have my doubts. After my post a couple weeks back about how I felt so bad about Starbuck's death, I went to scifi.com and downloaded the podcast to listen to it and rewatch the episode and Ronald Moore had me convinced that Starbuck really was just plain dead. Of course I'm sure that was on purpose, so that people wouldn't find out ahead of time that Starbuck was going to be back. They didn't even put Katee's name in the credits for this episode till the end.

But enough about Starbuck. Can I just say how much I love Adam/Rosilin at the beginning, and how much it hurts me that they're not going to get along for a while because of how he voted at the trail. And of course they can't end up happily ever after because Rosilin is going to die before they get to Earth, I'm sure of it. I've been slowly rewatching the first season, and they mention in the prophecies that the dying leader won't live to make it to Earth. So now that her cancer is back. . .

As for the trial itself I love that Lee pointed out how they constantly make up the rules. It's one of those things that TV shows do, and then don't own up to. I mean think back to Star Trek TNG. How many times did one of the crew disobey direct orders, or do any of a variety of things that should have at least demoted them if not send them up for a court martial. And it's even worse in Start Trek, because unlike the Galactica, there's a whole Star Fleet of other officers out there who could take their place (excepting of course Voyager and the last season of Enterprise). But anyway, Lee is so right, they do just make up the rules because they have to. It's the same reason that he told his dad that he couldn't be under his command anymore, but as soon as the cylons appeared he was back in the cockpit, because it was more important that the fleet needed him.

As for the rest of the final five. . . well I could go on and on about all the implications of who they are. All I'll say is that I think they must be the real cylon leaders, and that there plan all along has been to find Earth. That seems to make the most sense.

Now I just have to make it until 2008. . .

Yeah, after I watch the finale, I went looking for the podcast immediately. Which I still they may still have not posted yet. When I couldn't find it, I made the huge mistake of going into the forums. I should know better. Forums always have people complaining about the show and saying how badly everything was done.

Now to figure out how to hold my breath until 2008.
