Chapter 3:

Darla was satisfied that the meeting she and Spike had with Holland Manners had gone well. Wolfram & Hart was more than willing to remove Spike's chip as long as the two of them were able to seduce Angel onto their side. She'd also been able to get a bit more of the Calynthia powder that she'd used to get into Angel's dreams.

They hadn't gone two steps from Holland's office when Lindsey appeared. Darla had vainly hoped that she would be able to make this trip to Wolfram & Hart without seeing Lindsey. Her feelings about the young lawyer were confused. She wasn't entirely sure what she wanted to do with him and she couldn't afford to find out in front of Spike, at least not considering the mood Spike was in since they had run into Angel.

"Darla," Lindsey started. "Are you all-"

Before he could finish, her fingers closed around his throat and she slammed him against the wall.

"You should have taken advantage of me when I was weak," she told him as she showed him her demon face. "Too bad you missed your chance."

She released her hold on his neck, not surprised that he wasn't afraid, but a little disappointed that he wasn't aroused by her violent display either. Lindsey didn't say anything; he simply lifted his good hand to rub his throat.

Spike glared at the lawyer for a moment before putting a protective hand around Darla's waist and pulling her toward the elevator. As they walked away, Darla could finally detect a hint of desire from Lindsey.

"Who's that, and why's he staring at your ass?" Spike growled in her ear.

As the elevator doors closed behind them she said, "He's my first meal once we're done with these lawyers."

That seemed to satisfy Spike, or maybe he was just interested in other things, because as soon as the elevator had begun to move he hit the emergency stop button. He pushed her back against the wall and captured her lips in a possessive kiss. His hands began to roam over her body as his knee nudged her legs apart.

"You know they probably have cameras in here," she told him when he finally released her lips.

"Guess it's some security guard's luck night then, 'cause he's about to get a hell of a show," Spike replied, before his attention wandered to her neck.

She moaned as his fingers began to probe her entrance, while he nibbled on her throat.

"You really want me, don't you?" she asked him breathlessly.

"Of course. A man would have to be blind not to want you."

He bent his head to return his attention to her neck, but she grabbed the back of his head and stopped him, forcing him to look her in the eye.

"Maybe," she answered. "But they're too afraid to possess me." She remembered how Lindsey had held off on kissing her untill he was sure she wanted it, and all the times she had been near Angel but he wouldn't even reach out to touch her. "But not you. I came to you and you just took, made me yours. Make me yours now."

Spike didn't need any further prompting. After just a moment his fingers were replaced by his cock as he lifted her feet up off the elevator floor. She wrapped her legs around his waist, letting him pin her against the wall.

She cried out for just a moment as he pushed inside of her, but then he silenced her with a fierce kiss. As the kiss deepened their features both shifted until their fangs descended to pierce their battling tongues.

Their coupling was quick, hard, and desperate. More than anything else, Darla wanted to be possessed. She had been the Master's favorite, his most beautiful treasure, and yet he had let her go. Her new Sire's desperate need was a welcome change. She didn't want Spike to ever let go of her.

For several moments after their climaxes had passed, they leaned against each other. Darla's legs fell back down to the floor although Spike still had one firm hand on her ass.

"You know," he panted, "I think I should get you home and properly claim this pretty little ass of yours. Keep any of these lawyers from getting any ideas."

She smiled and restarted the elevator as he tucked himself back in. "Sounds like a good plan to me."

"After all," Spike continued. "We got all our errands done, nothing to do but enjoy the rest of the night, and maybe some of the morning too."

Darla tried to keep the guilty look out of her eyes, but he caught it anyway.

"What?" he demanded. "We are done running about for the night aren't we?"

She smiled weakly. "For the night yes. But there's something I have to do in the morning."

Swallowing, Darla tried to figure out how best to explain to Spike why it was absolutely critical that she visit Angel and find out how much of her Angelus there was left for her to save.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angel turned on the shower in the hope that it would shut out the noise coming from the lobby below. Wes, Cordy and Gunn were packing up their stuff and leaving. They were also complaining about being fired, but what choice did he have? He couldn't risk having them around anymore, not now that Darla was a vampire and Spike was back in town.
What seemed like an eternity ago, he had told Buffy that it was the man in him not the demon that needed to be killed. He had never known that to be more true than right now. It was nothing but pure human sentimentality that had let Darla take the stake from his hand. He had only been able to kill her the first time because Buffy had been there. Because he'd had something better waiting for him.
But he didn't have that now. Everything that he could have had was gone with Darla's soul. And all because Spike was an idiot and couldn't possibly understand the beautiful thing he had ruined forever.
But pulverizing Spike might have to wait a couple of days. Angel's muscles were sore and he had a nasty gash in his side. After he had failed so spectacularly in front of Spike and Darla, Angel had gone out and found a lot of demons to kill, hoping that enough violence would erase the picture of Spike and Darla from his mind.
That was another reason he'd had to fire his friends. They wouldn't understand the level of violence necessary to get rid of Spike and Darla. They weren't ordinary demons, and the ordinary methods wouldn't work with them. Darla was too smart, not to mention that she was the one that had taught Angel everything about being a vampire. As for Spike, if Darla was making the plans for him, he was definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Together they would be a deadly and almost unstoppable team.
Together.
The word sent a fresh bolt of rage through him, and his fist slammed into the wall. Breaking the tile didn't make him feel any better though, and it didn't do anything to get rid of the images of Spike and Darla that played through his head. They were probably fucking and laughing right now.
Finally, Angel turned the water off. No matter how hot he made it, it wouldn't wash away the images that played over and over in his mind.
Spike and Darla.
They were his. Both of them belonged to him, and had no business with each other. They were supposed to dislike each other, or at least act like they did.
Wearily, he dried off and crawled into bed, still trying to will the images of their entwined bodies out of his head.
Tomorrow, he told himself. Tomorrow he would find a way to end this new torment. Tonight, he just needed to sleep.
tease, tease, tease! You drive me crazy with the teasing! Very good stuff. Can't wait to see what happens when Darla visits Angel's dreams again.
Look on the bright side, at least I didn't dedicate a whole chapter to actually covering the details of their meeting with W&H :)
Glad you're enjoying this.
I like it. I like it alot.
I like Darla's interactions with Spike. Spike's love is like an obession which should meld well with Darla's need to be possessed. Darla's need for affection and the attention of her Sire does ring true and does explain her attachment to Angel. He adored and protected her after she sired him. Well done.
Thank you. There's a lot of ways you can write Darla, since she was only a minor character, that's part of what makes her more fun. But the heartless bitch version is too easy. Plus I think Darla was a product of her times, and I think she can only really define herself by her relationships with the men in her life. Which is a little more complicated at the moment.
I really do like the way this story is unfolding. And although I know it's a ways off yet, I can't wait to see how Darla is going to get Spike and Angel to play nice with one another.
Thanks, glad you enjoy it. And I'm also looking forward to getting to more of Spike and Angel dealing with each other, although I'm afraid it doesn't happen until around chapter 7 or 8.
"They're too afraid to possess me. But not you."
Spike is never afraid to take a chance. The more dangerous, the better he likes it. He's not without fear, but he doesn't let it paralyze him.
Another great chapter.
