A job! A job!

I just got home from work, and my cell phone rang. A guy called me from Marie Calenders. He'd found my resume (from back before Thanksgiving) and asked if I was still looking for work. I told him that I was, but that I can only work evenings and weekends and he said that that was okay, and that if they liked me, they would make that work. I don't have an actual interview time set up, I guess this guy works a lot but doesn't have a set schedule, so he told me to just call before I came down to set up an interview with him.

I'm so excited. Of course there's no guarantee that I'll get the job, if this guy likes me when we interview I still have to impress one other person. But still how wonderful to simply be called in without having to submit myself. And my resume is so much better now than it was almost a year ago when I applied last. In fact, I almost got the job then.

My biggest worry now is Christmas. My parents said they'd pay to fly me home for Christmas, which is great but, that might not go over well with this job (if I get it). I seem to remember them saying when they interviewed me before Thanksgiving that everyone was required to work the holidays. Personally I would choose the job, because I could use the steady income, especially if they'll cater to my schedule. I'm sure my parents would understand (and the tickets haven't been bought yet) I'm just not sure how to ask about that on an interview if they don't bring it up.

On a totally unrelated note, these past to days I've gotten a fair amount of writing done on an original novel idea I'd had a while ago. I'd tried starting it once before, got halfway through the first chapter, and realized I was approaching the whole thing wrong. I just didn't have the heart to rewrite it then, but yesterday I started working on it again, and it's going pretty well except that I'm really nervous about it. I'm just so worried people won't like my characters. It makes you appreciate fanfic, where you know people won't be reading unless they already love the characters.

Thanks, I actualy just got back from the interview and I did get the job. I still can't believe it.

I hope it works out for you. It sounds like you'll still be acting, though, right? I've been seeing the previews for CSI and they're showing the club scene with John Mayer. I think of you every time!

Yeah, I'm still going to be doing acting, but probably not the extra work. It'll depend on what my schedule looks like. I'm going to try and concentrate on actual auditions for actual parts :). And if you see a dark head of hair near John Mayer's feet, that's me (okay so there were several of us, but I don't know how to explain what the back of my head looks like).
