More con stuff cause I'm not at work
Sep. 12th, 2006 12:32 pmWell, I didn't think I'd be posting again quite this soon because I was supposed to be working today, but the show I was supposed to work on decided at the last moment to cut most of the people they'd chosen, and it was too late to find more work for the day.
It wouldn't be so annoying if I could work tomorrow, but I have an agent show case tomorrow night, so I don't dare take any job that would make me late for that.
Maybe I'll get some writing done. At the beginning of the convention I was feeling very writer's blocked, but I'm feeling more inspired now that it's done.
So much happened at the con, that I'm almost not sure what else to add. I did want to mention all the wonderful people I met, at least the ones I managed to remember the LJ for (or snag their LJ from someone else's post about the con). So let's see I met (in no particular order)
copykween,
eurydice72,
ghostgirl13,
hollydb,
kimrae1977,
oanimation,
reciprocity_,
sevvy_o,
spikesgurl,
spuffyangst,
spikeverse, and
aecflower.
Wow, that was a lot of people. Of course some of them I got to know better than others.
hollydb and I for instance hung out in the bar on Friday night and really hit if off. And of course
eurydice72 and I know each other pretty well so it was simply wonderful to put a face to her, and then there's
spikeverse who's my beta and who was my roommate for the con so we spent a lot of time together.
Of course what people really want to know about is James, and I'm not entirely sure what to say. What stood out to me during the Q&A was all the questions about Shakespeare he was asked and his answers. My parents are huge Shakespeare snobs and it's a little odd to think that they would agree with everything he said.
Also on the theatre front, did I say how great the play was? It really was. I'm not going to go into a long technical critique of it, but basically they made all the right choices. It was kind of too bad that the play required english accents because every now and then what they were saying was kind of lost in the accent, but it wouldn't have worked in standard american. I don't really keep up with modern theatre, I'm kind of a classics girl, but it was good to see that James picked a play that really was good, because there's a lot of trash out there.
I'm not sure what else to talk about. But if I think of more interesting tid-bits from the convention, I'll let you know.

Date: 2006-09-12 07:48 pm (UTC)It must have been a great time. I'd love to meet up with a bunch of LJers and see JM or some other BtVS things.
I have this little fantasy that everytime I go to California I'm going to run into JM somewhere. I know the odds of that happening are astronomical, but I can always hope...I have several RPS fics in my head, starring him and me.
Glad you had a good time!
