icemink: (Why me? by delwyncole)

So I just finished VM season 1 disc 1 and I desperately want more. So, since there's no way I'm going to get the next DVD from netflix sooner than Wednesday (damn the holiday weekend) I was about to breakdown and run to blockbuster and just rent a movie the old fashioned way. Guess what, Blockbuster does not carry Veronica Mars in any of it's stores. Well okay, I didn't actually check every blockbuster in L.A. (see, I'm not a totally crazy person with a new obsession) and just so you know, I did not brave the friday night Hollywood traffic to go look. For once I was smart and checked online first. When that turned up empty I checked out Hollywood Video. They don't carry it either.

Stupid video stores.

What I wouldn't give to be back home in Boulder right now where I could run down to the Video Station, a locally owned video store that has everything, and I mean everything. The more obscure the better. But honesty, how obscure is Veronica Mars? It's a network TV show that's about to start it's next season. Hello? It's times like this when it's hard to not be one of the soulless masses who's only interested in the most popular stuff. Why must I be an individual, why?

Have you tried the public library? Ours has all the BtVS and ATS seasons, and I bet they carry VM as well.

*hugs* thank you thank you. You're right, I checked online and the library does have them. The funny thing is I had just applied for a library card and was planning to go check out some books to keep me occupied when I'm doing extra work anyway. I just forgot that libraries have DVDs. Now I just have to kill half an hour till they open.

It probably has something to do with not many people being able or willing to work thier way through a season's worth of shows in the little amount of time they allow to rent. Plus they cost more in the first place than a single dvd.

Oh no, video stores have lots of TV show DVDs, the thing is, when you rent one, you only get one disc at a time. (Well, you can rent more than one, but they each count as a separate rental). No, video stores are simply fronts for the soulless minions of orthodoxy. Luckily the public library is here to save me. At least with Season 1 DVDs, I guess season 2 is too new for them to have, but by the time I'm done with Season 1, Netflix will have sent me season 2.
