Thoughts on Home

Okay, so my TiVO recorded a couple episodes of Angel, including Home. I was watching it and something occurred to me (for all I know this already occurred to everyone else long ago, but bear with me).

Angel takes the deal before anyone else. Now we don't actually know when the memory wipe happens, but it must be pretty quick, because W&H sets up Connor right away, and let's face it, they were ready for this. So the question is, does the rest of gang take the deal because their memories have been altered, or would they have taken the deal anyway if they had their actual memories?

It's a sitch where you can't know what they would do. By agreeing to the mind wipe , Angel took away thier right to choose. Just like Willow did when she messed with Tara's memory. Both instances were entirely unecessary and a violation . There might be an argument for changing Connor's memory in order to save lives but there was no need to change the others memories at all.

I've alway's thought that their memories were wiped before they agreed and it pissed me off. I believed that if they'd had their memories they would have been in a differnt frame of mind. They were all calm and a little bit happy not near destroyed as they would have been if they remembered what Connor tried to do. always felt it kinda hincky. Verda
