Buffy and Cooking

Okay so I've been trying to catch up on some of the fics that I've lost track of, and once again I found an author saying that Buffy was a bad cook. I run across this all the time in Spuffy fics and I have to ask why do people assume Buffy can't cook. In fact I think there were a couple times that Buffy was shown to be a good cook.

Remember the very beginning of Season 3 before she was let back in school? She made some sort of lunch for the Scoobies and was talking about how since she wasn't in school she didn't really have anything else to do but fool around in the kitchen (major paraphrase there).

And let's not forget Pangs, Buffy made a whole Thanksgiving dinner more or less by herself (while fighting the vengeful spirits of Native Americans no less). At the very end everyone seemed to like the meal, and it sure looked good.

So why do people think Buffy's a bad cook? Is it because she didn't cook for Dawn in Season 6? I always thought that was more a very busy single parent kind of thing.

Any thoughts? Anything I'm missing?

ETA: I thought of one more example of Buffy cooking. Remember when Joyce was first sick? Buffy made her breakfast in bed and Dawn took the credit.

I always thought it was because she got so confused when she was cooking Thanksgiving in Pangs...
