iceminkWell, it's been several days and I never heard back from the restaurant I had the great interview at, so I guess I didn't get the job.
I really need to find a plan B. I'm thinking of trying to find part time work in a bank, or maybe even *gasp* with the government to help me out while I look for the job I want. The problem is, having such a job is only going to extend the time I can look for the job I want. The thing that kills me in this whole senario is that I'd be happy with just a waitressing job, but I can't get one. I mean I'd understand if I was trying to be an astronaut and couldn't get a job quickly, but as a waitress?
The other thing is that everyone agrees the way to get such jobs out here is to know someone. Well, I'd love to meet people, but I don't have the money to go and do so.
As far as writing goes, I've slowed down from the blitz I was doing last weekend, partly because the job thing has me down again, but also because of allergies. Right now I'm so bored. Luckily I do work today. Unluckily, the job is in Palm Springs, so the company is providing a bus to take us there and back which means I have a couple hours of boredom on the bus to look forward too. I'd take a book but I get carsick when I try and read in a bus or car.
