And the name of the monster is. . .
Sep. 20th, 2005 10:01 pmOkay, so I just finished watching the second episode of Supernatural, which happened to take place in my home state of Colorado. And was either badly, or really well researched. Actually, I think it was just a funny coincidence.
So early in the episodes, one of the heros (I haven't learned their names yet) claims that the brothers environmental studies students from UC Boulder. Okay, there is no UC Boulder. Yes there is a University of Colorado Boulder, I just graduated from there. But it's not called UC Boulder. In fact none of the several state universities in Colorado are called UC. They are all CU. And this isn't a totally obscure fact considering CU Boulder is a huge football school and the CU Buffs often make it to the whatever Bowl (not a football fan myself, so I don't remember). Or at least they did when I was younger.
Ironically, the main cafeteria at CU Boulder is the Alfred Packard grill. There slogan is "Have a friend for dinner". What does that have to do with anything? Well the episodes monster was supposedly once a cannibal. And Alfred Packard is the only american to ever be convicted of cannibalism (although the ruling was latter overturned by the Colorado Supreme Court.) So I wonder if it was all complete coincidence, or if someone secretly meant Alfred Packerd to be the monster.
Oh, and my favorite Alfred Packerd fact (or at least story my dad told me) is that the judge at his trail said, "There was only 13 democrats in this county and you done ate seven of them." I'm quoting that from memory, so the numbers may not be quite accurate.
Also, in the preview for the next episode, they showed Amy Acker.
