When it rains. . .

So my plans for this last week were pretty much shot to hell by my allergic reaction. Actually it was the medicine. I was supposed to spend the week casually packing, and finishing up my story for the Spuffy smut-a-thon, but after only about ten minutes physical exertion my head would begin to pound and I'd feel like I was going to throw up. So I didn't get as much packing done ahead of time as I wanted, and I just couldn't write.

So I was just checking my e-mail, and updating my Summer of Spike story, when I found an e-mail from my beta telling me that her life had just gotten too busy and she can't beta for me anymore. Ahhhh! All though I have to say I'm so grateful to her, not just for the betaing she's already done for me, but for letting me know that she wouldn't be able to beta anymore. You have no idea how many betas just drop off the face of the earth. They just never return a chapter and never tell you that they aren't going to beta anymore. So I'm really grateful that she had the courtesy to let me know she couldn't do it anymore, and I completely understand.

But it's really bad timing for me. There's the last chapter I sent her, plus the one I'm hoping to finish today, and another one or two I'm going to have to write when I stop at a hotel. So it looks like the last few chapters of my smut-a-thon story aren't going to get betaed, since with my move I'm not going to have time to find a new one.

Oh well. . .

Thanks so much. I would have taken you up on it, but by the time you posted I was far away from any interent access. The part of America I was travelling through is breathtakingly gorgeous, but not much in the way of civilization, unless you count Los Vegas. . .
