2 When did you write your first fanfic and which fandom was it for?
3 Which fandoms do you, or have you, written for?
4 Do you read much fanfic or do you mainly write?
5 What comes easiest for you when writing?
(dialogue, descriptions, plot, characterizations, humour, angst...)
6 Which genres do you mainly write? (action, angst, dark, drama, horror, humour...)
7 Which genres will you not write?
8 Are reader comments/responses important?
9 Do you use a beta reader?
10 Which is your favorite character to write fanfic for and why?
11 Which are your favorite ships (including friendships) that you write the most?
12 Do you have characters that are so strongly established that they're in your heads?
13 Which characters are you most comfortable doing a POV for? Which is the hardest?

1. I write fanfic because the stories pop into my head, and if I don't force myself to write them down, and follow them to the end, I get stuck with the same stories in my head. So I have to keep writing to keep my brain fresh.

2. Okay, I think I wrote my first fanfic when I was in the first grade. I have these vague memories of trying to write a play based on Voltron. However, after that there was a big gap between me actually writing something, and just thinking out the stories until whenever it was the 5th Season of AtS was first airing. That was when I discovered that other people actually wrote down these sorts of stories they think of, and I decided to join in.

3. I don't think I've written for anything other than BtVS. Joss characters and just so in my head. I always thought though, if there had been another season or two of Firefly I would have written Mal/Inara, but there was never quite enough Firefly for me to really capture their voices.

4. I used to read more. Then I grew rather picky. Now I mostly write, but I'm always looking for good stories to read.

5 Dialogue is definately the easiest for me. I think it has to do with being an actor.

6. I guess I mostly write angst. At least that is my current stories. I also like to do alternate worlds.

7 I'm not sure there's a genre I won't write. I tend towards angst, but I try to keep humor in my stories.

8 I wish reader comments weren't important, but they definitely are. Probably since I mostly post on LJ these days, they are the one way I actually know someone is reading. That's the one thing I miss about using some of the big fanfic sites, they would give you statistics on how many people were reading your stories, so you always knew that people really were interested.

9 Yes, although sometimes I have a desperate need to post, so I don't wait for my beta. But they are very very important, cause I make lots of silly mistakes.

10 Favorite character is tough. All of my ships tend to have Spike, but I'd have to go with Darla, because she can be so tragic, or so petty. You can make her evil, or just failing to be good. As I've gotten older, I also appreciate that she's more mature than Buffy. I still love Buffy, but she's always going to be kind of frozen at the age she was at the end of season 7, and I've grown a lot since then.

11 Well, I've written the most Spuffy. But I love Spike/Darla, even if they are only friends. Actually, that reminds me that I really need to finish at least one of my WIPs, so I can get back to this story I've started working on that is a Spuffy story, but with a strong Sparla friendship. However my favorite, dirty/bad/wrong pairing is Spangle. I like the anger and the fighting and the pain. Healthy, perhaps not, but then fanfic is a great way to work out our unhealthy desires.

12 Oh yes. Pretty much Buffy, Spike, and Darla have all set up shop in my head.

13 Buffy is the easiest to do a POV for. Spike the hardest. The tricky thing about Spike, is I can't help but thinking there's a difference in the way he thinks from the way he talks. I mean the way he speaks is very effected. But I think he still thinks a lot more like William, at least in terms of more complex thoughts and grammar. The trouble is, if you try to write that way, it doesn't quite come off like Spike, or like William. I think if you're writing POV, you have to stick much more in the 'Spike' voice, because that's how people are going to hear him in their heads.

#2 - LOL!
#13 - Interesting. I always hear Spike in my head when I'm imagining stories.

Yes, I often think that the difference between Spike's inner and speaking voices is a tricky thing to convey. I got spanked once for having him think "One was never sure" when he would never say that. Well, no, he probably wouldn't, but William would, and he's still in there. This is a big part of why he's such an interesting character, and why we're still intrigued by him after all this time.

And, yeah, a hit count on LJ would be nice, wouldn't it?
