"Dea ex Machina" is surely the perfect way to describe Darla's role in this chapter!
I'm glad that she killed Daryl, knowing that he's dead (and seeing it with her eyes) will help Buffy. But I wonder why Darla came for Spike. He didn't think that someone of his family could be bothered to help him.
