Dude! I have a job!

Yep, I just got back from the interview at Marie Calendar's. About half-way through the guy stopped me and said he was going to hire me. I guess they've been really short staffed, and he's just been hired to get things running a little more smoothly there. So yeah, I have a job. It's weird. Not sure exactly when I'm working yet, but he said there was no problem with me working nights and weekends (which is what I need to work so I can audition during the day).

So now my clichedom is complete. I'm an actress who waits tables. But I'm really excited. It seems like a good place to work, and it's only five miles from where I live. In L.A. that's insanely close.

In other good news, some wonderful person nominated my story Mayfly at Love's Last Glimpse. I'm really excited about that. First of all it's kind of nice to have a story I wrote a year ago nominated, just because it means that someone has read it recently, but more than that, I was nominated in the Best Spike Characterization, and Best Angst categories, and that's pretty much what the story is about. It's angstful, and I was trying to fill in the blanks on why Spike would have wanted to Shanshu, so it's pretty heavily focused on his character.

And now that I think of it, I have a question I could have asked at the convention. Oh, well. Next time.

And that is the one down side, I have a huge sweet tooth, and I'm going to be surrounded by pie. This may be the greatest test my metabolism has ever faced. On the other hand, now that I'll have a regular income, I could join a gym, and eat all the pie I want :)
