Your Spuffy trivia for the day

Does anyone remember in what episode Spike has the dream in which he realizes he's in love with Buffy? Yes I should know this, and yes I could go looking through episode transcripts for the answer, but I'm lazy. I know it was in the beginning of Season 5 I just don't know when.

I want to know cause I've actually started writing a story idea I've had for some time, that starts during The Replacements (the episode with the two Xanders) and I'm mostly sure that Spike doesn't know he's in love with Buffy yet, but I"m not positive.

Season 5 Episode 4 - "Out of My Mind" the one where Spike earlier has plotted to get the chip out... **squee** And yes, that episode occurs right after "The Replacement"!

Thanks for supporting a lazy writer. Actually, I was looking through so many different episode transcripts for both Buffy and Angel, my eyeballs were starting to bleed.

I should try writing simple stories, that completely ignore cannon and have nothing to do with the show at all. I know, Xander the Vampire Slayer! Yeah, that's the ticket. No one will notice the slight change I've made.

You should ignore that anyway. I don't like that he just woke up one night in love with her without having had a single positive or enjoyable moment with her ever. She was always nothing but a bitch to him.

Oh, and I meant to add that I love 'Nothing to Fear.'

Well, I think we can safely assume that he was in love with her long before that. I like to think of that moment as the point at which he couldn't deny his feelings anymore. And yes it is true that Buffy was a bitch to him, but let's face it, Buffy wasn't entirely off the mark when she told Spike, "You're in love with pain." Remember his feelings for Cecily who was even more of a bitch to him. Let's face it, Spike doesn't make the best choices when it comes to women.

Also in Buffy's defense, before season 5 Spike did still try to kill her and her friends on a regular basis, albeit through proxies.

However, I can see your point about, why the hell did Spike fall for Buffy?

Anyway, ranting aside, glad you like Nothing to Fear. . . and thanks for taking the time to let me know.

Huh, I just found all these replies to my comments in my Spam folder. I didn't they were emailed to me.

I think you should add at least one instance of them working together in a somewhat positive manner to stop a big bad which Spike realizes he enjoys. Then he can realize he loves her.

Also, other than Willow after he got his chip, when did Spike try to kill her friends? I think he threatened and maybe at times they got in the way, but I think he was pretty much only after Buffy.

And I love season 5 stories. I'm glad you are starting another one. That is when I think the Spuffy should happen. After Buffy has a year to try that normal life and normal boyfriend thing. And Spike has had some time to adapt to his chip. Besides, to reject his help when they had a hell god after them was really stupid.

I can't wait to read it.

You could definitely argue that Spike only threatened to kill her friends. For instance, when Faith woke up from her coma, and Xander and Giles asked Spike for help, he said that if he found her, he'd send her their way so she would kill them. The big example though is the whole Adam thing. Spike tried to get Buffy killed by separating her from her friends, and generally helping Adam.

You're definitely right though, it was mostly about killing Buffy. The point is, up till Season 5 Spike was a cheering section for other people trying to kill Buffy. In fact in the Season 5 episode I was looking at, The Replacement, Spike again cheers on a demon as it tries to kill Buffy.

Not sure when I'll start posting a new story, or even which story it will be. I have about three stories right now, for which I have a couple chapters written. It probably won't be until I wrap up Nothing to Fear. . . that I start posting something new.
