As for who has been talking to the cops, that was actually referenced in the last chapter, although seeing as how that was a really long time ago, can't blame you for forgetting. Anyway, after her fight with Angel of Spike, it was Darla who called them.
And yes, the Internet is a god send. It's also allowed me to find lots of information, so I could have better questions when I saw the doctor, and so I didn't have to freak out thinking I was dying or something like that. Since I don't get sick often, I tend to be a hypochondriac when I do feel bad.
