Quick question for any brits on the list

So I'm working on one of my stories at the moment, and I'm trying to remember what the drinking age is in England. I'm pretty sure it's younger than in the US, but I can't remember what it is. Anyone?

Sex is 16, and drinking 18. But most under that-like 16...are already on the go.
